Fireplace Finished

terrific room!

I haven’t done a renovation post in ages mostly because we were at a bit of a standstill. The trim on the fireplace was giving us challenges, while at the same time we were just too frightened to cut the tile for the tub (seeing as we only had exactly the right amount of tile.)fireplaceI eventually hit my limit and decided I just had to finish the fireplace. The biggest problem was a piece of tapered trim that needed to be cut to fit some very odd angles. No matter what I tried the angles and cuts wouldn’t make sense.

fireplaceIn the end the only way to solve the corner was a combination of sanding, wood filler and a whole lot of whittling with a knife. It turned out far nicer than I expected and was a lot more work than I ever imagined it could possibly be.
